Fly ash is fine particles captured from exhausted gas from coal fired power plant. Every year, it is discharged in large amount. Conventional applications of fly ash are landfill, roadbed, soil conditioning, mine backfill, etc. Now fly ash is used in the cement, concrete, mortar, AAC block production. Wet fly ash may contain water as high as 45%. Too much water impacts activity of fly ash in the cementitious materials. Rotary drum drying technology is utilized to provide solution for fly ash drying.
During a drying process of 40-60 minutes, water absorbs heat and turns into vapor, which is taken away by exhaust gas.Dust collecting system is very important for fly ash dryer. In some areas, government applies strict environmental protection policy. Just a cyclone dust collector may be not enough, bag house is built to meet the emission standard.
Not only fly ash, now many industrial solid wastes are used in cement industry, such as FGD gypsum, metallurgy slag, clay, etc. Fly ash dryer is applicable for them, too.
